Crazy4Challenges 26 and Kraftin' Kimmie #19

Today I've combined the Kraftin' Kimmie and Crazy4Challenges Combo

At C4C, our fabby February Hostess Robin has asked us to use three different textures on our card. For my texture I added Buttons and Bows (which incidentally is the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge this week, hostessed by one of my fave Krafty Girls, Andrea) a flower and some cuttlebugged Basic Grey DP! I used Polly the Bar Wench . I coloured Polly with Copics and used a combination of Coral Cardstock and Basic Grey Designer Paper. The Flower is a Prima Beauty!

Would you like to win the Puppy Love... Stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie??? Just head on over the the KK Challenge blog to get all the details on how to play and win!

Totally Stampalicious is our C4C Sponsor this week! Head on over to the C4C blog if you want to play along with us

Christmas Stamping #42 It's a Colourful Christmas AND OCL Sketch!

It's Christmas Card Friday! Actually this week here in Kingston, it sure feels and LOOKS like Christmas! Big Fluffy Snowflakes have been falling for the last three days, creating a beautiful blanket of snow!!!! Feels like Christmas because I've had happy mail every day this week.....yep, stamps! Bringing all kinds rubber for me to play with! Can't wait to be sharing some stuff with you over the next month!

The theme for this week is It's a Colourful Christmas, hosted by ME!!!! I am a huge fan of Pink Christmas cards! so create a card in shades of pink!

We've started a fun challenge over at CSAYL......Each week one player will be chosen as our featured stamper. That player will have the opportunity to be a guest designer for the following week! Won't you play along with us?

In addition to featuring the OUR CRAFT LOUNGE Penguin Parka set, I've used a sketch From the OCL Design Team Friday Sketch Challenge

Each Friday on the OCL BLOG, you will see a fabulous sketch. Once a month a player is drawn from all the months participants to win a free stamp set! Fun!

Well, I think I better go dig out from under all the snow and clear the path to the mailbox! Hoping that there will be some more goodies there for me!

Happy Stamping!

Pink Cat Thursday.....Rubber and Digi Release!

This week, Melissa has a Fabulous Rubber Release happening over at Pink Cat Studio.....this sweet Lily Bee is one of the new images, also available in digi!

Look at the other sweet images that are available as well. Some of the images, including the Monkey and the Giraffe, Sick Billy and Lily (note, each rubber stamp set comes with a sweet pet!) and the robot, were previously only available in Rubber.

I used some K& Co Dp for my background for Lily Bee. Other than that, the design is pretty simplistic! Here's a Billy Card that I created for the Digi Release.

On a bit of a bitter sweet note, this will be my last week as a designer for Pink Cat Studio! I want to take the time to send a big Thank you out to Melissa for having me on her Team for the past year and a bit! I've truly loved working with her sweet and fun images and you will still see some of them posted here from time to time.

The truth is, I have a few things in the works and had to rearrange my commitments to allow my self the time to participate in other ventures!!! I know that I will miss Melissa and the Team dearly, but am looking forward to what lies ahead!

Hop on over to the Pink Cat Site to get a glimpse of this fabulous release!

Christmas Stamping is BACK!!!! Challenge #41 What's Cookin'!

We're Back!!!! So excited to be getting a start on my Christmas Cards early again this year!!! I also get to be the challenge hostess this week..........what's cookin' ? A recipe Challenge! Please make a card using only 2 layers, 3 buttons and some glitter!

I used this sweet image from Mo's Digital Pencil for my card! Using a nestie as a template allowed me to achieve a multi layered look on my card!!! Rub ons and some Martha Stewart Pine Bough punch outs also gave me some dimension without bulk!

I coloured the image with Copics.......the little bit of glitter was added with Copic Spica Pens! Cardstock is Pine Green and the ribbon is from M's. I added a wee bit of snow with some white gel pen! If you know me well, you KNOW I love the snow scenes, although I wish that dratted snow would go away!

Our Team is back in full force this year, along with a couple of newcomers, my BFF Jacqui Lines and My Long Distance BFF Jeanne Streiff as well as Peggy, whom I've never met!

This year will be a little different in that on the first Friday of the Month, the team will challenge you to make some fun gift items. The rest of the month will focus on Christmas Card Challenges!

Sure hope you'll play along and link your cards on the CSAYL site

Happy Stamping!

TSOLDT04-44 Cent Challenge!

The Challenge this week hosted by The {Stamps}of Life DT, is to create a 44 cent card!! Well, I really wasn't sure what that was........but apparently if your card is flat and light, you can mail it for 44 cents.......... I think that they're about 60 cents here in Canada........but I could be wrong!

In any case the challenge is to make a flatter type card. I know this one would pass for regular postage here in Canada. I created the card using several brushes from The {Stamps} of Life.
The Paisley's and small pink flowers are from build-a-paisley. The small black circular flowers are from Back2Basics. The sentiment is from HappyBday2You and the flower is from Daisies4You. I almost forgot the grass! It's from Eggs4Easter. I LOVE combining the brushes to create quick and simple cards.

To complete the card, all I did was colour the flower in with Copics, add a little BV23 for some shading to make it pop a bit off the paper and add brad and a ribbon! If you need a card in a hurry! Brushes make it SO easy to do!!!!

Check the links to the DT on my sidebar to see the great creations!!!

Kraftin' Kimmies Sneaky Peeky!!!! Bench Friends

Kraftin' Kimmies February Release came on so fast for me! With Christmas just out of the way and a week in California, I can't believe that we're almost halfway through February already! Where DOES the time go!!!!

I absolutely LOVE bench friends. These whimsical images from Jean really touch my heart! I used to be an avid Teddy Bear Collector. It wasn't a particular brand, although I was partial to Gunds and Boyd's Bears, but really it was more about the connection with the Bears.......okay so here's where I reveal one of my beliefs........

A Teddy Bear will call out to you............yes, really, they will. First of all they catch your eye. Whether they're sitting amongst a whole bear family, in a showcase or display on their own, they make eye contact (not the creepy chucky kind out of a horror movie, but just a sweet sweet glance) You look away, but for some reason you're compelled to have another glance.....they're looking right back at you, almost as if saying...........pick me, take me home.

Are you following? or do you think it's time to run away as fast as you can from the crazy ladie's blog, never to return??? When I was first dating my ex husband, he showered me with bears......lots and lots and lots of bears............a LOT of bears..........but none that really captured my heart.........pink bears, blue bears.....multicoloured bears..........lol!!! He was definitely attempting to please me with quantity........and then I told him my belief about bears....yeah, he still married me. Of course he quickly raised an eyebrow, smirked and gave me one of those "get real" looks...........I insisted that my theory is true.............. a bear will hand pick it's owner, if they (the purchaser) are attuned!

I gently directed him away from Kmart and to a couple of stores that carried the bears that spoke out to me............lol! The next occasion...... I am thinking it was Valentines Day, I received the most pleasant surprise! A Beautiful Black Bear........soft and cuddly, plush and expressive. Even more exciting was the expression on his face when I opened the parcel and he said "you're right" (well I LOVE hearing that!!!! not just about Bears!) He went on to tell me that he was in the store carefully choosing my gift. He had a pretty White Bear all picked out, when he caught this sweet little fella looking at him. He looked and thought he was nice, but picked up the white bear..........he said it was almost as if this little guy said "put that bear down" it's ME you need........being a little stubborn, he was still going for the other one, but he felt that this guy was being quite persistent and finally gave in. He was a perfect Bear!!!

Now either he bought into my belief or he was just trying hard to impress me in his courtship, but I truly believe that he was, captivated by that little guy!!! I know that I was and although I didn't receive as many bears after that, the bears that did make it home, were meant to be there!

I think sometimes stamps speak out to me too.............but that's a story for another time!

I love the intimacy of this stamp set and the sentiment that accompanies it... Friendship needs no words.............a pretty stamp, a beautiful saying

This stamp is my favourite out of this months release, but just WAIT until you see what else Kimmie has for you this month! All I can say is the images are INCREDIBLE!!!! Head on over to the Krafty Girls sites to see their fabulous creations and stay tuned for more sneaks this week, followed by a huge blog hop on Sunday!

Pink Cat Thursday!

Pink Cat Studio has some fun images for you this week! Wee Leprechauns, a pot of gold or two and Sparkly Rainbows to brighten a dreary winter day!

Wee Lily is sliding down the rainbow into a pot of gold....... wish I could land in one.......having some very expensive car repairs this week, I could have used a little extra! This card came together quickly, which is good because I've been feeling a little under the weather. The Sentiment is from the Kiki Kitty set!

Border Punch is from Martha Stewart, colouring with Copics and Spicas and Paper from Prismatics!

Don't forget to check out the fabby DT creations!

Stampotique Designers Challenge #1 It's a LOVE thing!

I'm so excited to be sharing the First Stampotique Design Team Challenge with you and I am fortunate to be the hostess this week!

The tremendously talented design team will be bringing challenges to you on the 2nd and 4th wednesday of each month, giving you the opportunity to see some fine artwork created with Stampotique Stamps, to get inspired and to hopefully play along with us!

This weeks challenge is to create a love themed card! If you head over to the Stampotique Design Team Challenge Blog you can get the full details about how to participate and where to
upload your creations. Play along and you could be the winner of a Gift Certificate to Stampotique Originals. One winner will be picked randomly from all players and will be announced in the next challenge post.

Also, if you visit the site, you will see the fabulous creations of our Design Team and/or you can follow the links to their sites on my sidebar

My Card was created with Moffia, one of the fabulous images by Daniel Torrente. I coloured her with Copics and cut around the image! I used some deep pink ink to sponge around the image a little and added some Cherry Coloured Rhinestones. Some metal as accents coupled with some Organdy Ribbon, gives it kind of an eclectic look I think! The DP is from K&CO , the Polka Dots, well I'm not sure!

Happy Stamping!

It's Ellas First Birthday!!!!

How exciting! Ella is turning one today! In celebration of her Birthday, The Pink Elephant is having a Blog Hop! If you've already been hopping, you will have arrived here from Jenn's blog!

If you're just popping in here and want to hop, the Party begins over at The Pink Elephant Site.

The challenge for the hop was to recreate one of your favourite challenges. I got to play with one of my Fave colour combinations, which I believe was TPE Challenge #21

Using the just released Build-a- Paisley and Tinyand2Cute sets (sentiment) from the {Stamps} of Life, I used Olive Green, bright blue and deep pink for this card! The paisleys' were coloured in with Copics as were the tiny flowers! I added a wee bit of Flower soft to the middle of the flowers for texture! A Whimsical Button and a dash of Ribbon finishes this simple card off nicely!

Okay on with the Hop!!!!! Go and have a peek at what Sheri has in store for you, I'm on my way over now!

Happy Stamping!
